Canon 7D - EF-S 18-135/3.5-5.6 Test

Canon 7D - EF-S 18-135/3.5-5.6 Test Tube. Duration : 2.48 Mins.

Just a few shots at different ranges and stops. This zoom is pretty good with it wide angle of view range (as a 28-216mm on a FF Camera), but you have to stop it down between f5.6 and f8.0 to get the best results. Otherwise it can produce unsharp corners (especially at 18 mm wide open). The sweet spot is around 35mm with best performance in terms of center and corner sharpness. At 135mm you get the best results with f8. So, for every day usage I´m satisfied and would recommend it, but the emphasis is placed on "day". At 18mm there is vignetting wide open, barrel distortion and noticeable chromatic aberration. Vignetting can be reduced by stopping down a stop and is eliminated at f8. Best thing is the image stabilisation (Canon says up to 4 stops) and the AF function. Every clip was made with AF before shooting. All untouched (no sharpness or cc in post). Just slomos in ae and scaled down to 720p24 for vimeo Iso between 200 and 1250 1080p24 1/50 Picture Style: Neutral Sharpness +4 Contrast -2 Saturation -1 Color Tone -1
