One of the best lenses that I would advise for your Canon Eos camera would be the Canon 50mm f/2.5 compact Macro lens. While this lens has its drawbacks, it's an unbeatable value for the money.

This lens was one of the first lenses that Canon released with the Eos principles in 1987, so it's been in yield for over 20 years. As such, this lens is rather high-quality compared to lenses designed today. It has a metal lens mount, and a very sturdy plastic body. This is a proper Ef lens, meaning that it will work on any Canon Eos camera, digital or film - this includes newer digital cameras such as the Digital Rebel series, Eos 10D/20D/30D/40D, and high-end cameras such as the Eos 1D and 5D.

The Canon Ef-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 is a small, light and affordable telephoto zoom lens with an impressive focal distance range. This telephoto lens is more than suitable for every day needs, but because it is an "Ef-S" lens it is worth mentioning that it can only work on a aps-c/1.6x body, so just make sure it fits your camera if your reasoning of purchasing this lens.

This is more or less an entry level zoom, there are also others out there as well and like them the build quality on the Canon Ef-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 isn't exquisite but for daily use its more than adequate. The focus ring isn't very flat but it is by no means terrible on the other hand the zoom ring is pretty good and allows flat transitions throughout the zoom ranges.

The autofocus speed on this lens is relatively slow so if you were reasoning of shooting sports with this lens you will want to look at a different lens, however for slow spirited objects this isn't a problem, this is also helped out by the f4-f5.6 cleft which gives a large depth of field.

All the shots were taken with the EFS 18-135mm IS lens at various ISO and manual focus. Feel free to ask me any questions, either in the comment box below, or through a personal message. All shots are 1920x1080 30fps except for the slow motion shots which were taken at 1280x720 60fps. Some shots were with manual ISO, shutter speed and aperture. Others were with automatic settings.
